We have been working with Dan Howell to get what is known as a Community Fibre Partnership scheme set up with Openreach for the purpose of bringing ultrafast broadband to some residents and businesses within Honiley and we were wondering if it would be possible to put something on your website to publicise this?
Through our work with Openreach, other suppliers such as Glide and DCMS (Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport), we have identified around
80 residential and business properties within the Honiley area who have not yet benefited from such an upgrade and who are eligible to claim the Gigabit Broadband Vouchers – https://gigabitvoucher.culture.gov.uk/ to help offset the cost of the upgrade.
Openreach have provided a quote for how much the scheme will cost and now that it has been approved by DCMS, they have set up a pledge site at https://www.openreach.com/connectmycommunity where residents and businesses can pledge their support. Instructions for how to do this are attached above. I have also attached the list of eligible properties for reference (though you will obviously not be able to publish these on your website).
However, due to DCMS’s decision to close this scheme early, eligible residents and businesses only have until 1st March to pledge their support for this scheme so we are trying to publicise this as much as we can to get as many voucher pledges in as possible before the cut-off date.
We hope that this is something that you will be able to support us with for the benefit of local residents and businesses within Honiley.
